Joris Smet

Joris Smet

We are please to announce that Joris Smet has joined the Larsen team as Business Development Manager.

Joris will focus mainly on Larsen's Flooring and Render Divisions. These are areas which he has gained extensive experience in over the last decade, working for the industry's major brands such as Maxit, CPI EuroMix and Heidelberg Cement Group, both Nationally and Internationally.

Larsen’s Flooring Division has been going for a number of years and has many products in it’s portfolio. These are being constantly added to and a new range of factory batched screeds is just being launched including Flotherm that is developed specially for under floor heating projects. The Render Division is a new departure for the company and will include plastering and EWIS products as well as renders.

With Joris’s background we are convinced he will be a major contribution to Larsen's continual growth and we would like to wish him the best of success in his new challenge.

Larsen – Pressing All The Right Buttons. (20th November 2008)

Larsen Building Products have officially opened their new state of the art, fully automated powder production plant representing an investment of £9m, that will increase their workforce from 130 to 160.  Attending this auspicious occasion and pressing the start button were the First Minister, Peter Robinson MP MLA and Deputy First Minister, Martin McGuinness MP MLA. This expansion is the culmination of several years of planning and will enable Larsen to supply the construction industry with products which previously would have been imported.  Plans are also in place to expand their export market into ROI and across Europe.

This is Larsen’s second powder processing plant and is not only the largest and most sophisticated plant of its kind in the whole of Ireland, but is indeed among the most technologically advanced in Europe. At full capacity it can manufacture, and pallet 2200 bags of produce per hour, that equates to 55 tons per hour or over 100,000 tons in an average working year. With 45 individual bulk silos the plant is capable of manufacturing virtually any type of powder product for the construction industry, many of which are currently imported. The new plant will increase Larsen’s out put 10 fold and add 30 newproduct lines.
